Social media has greatly changed the way we look at the world, ourselves and our neighbours. Without even realising it we’ve become micro bloggers.
By now even the most backward of us knows some form of social media in our lives but do we realise it’s true potential? Knowing what Facebook or Digg are and actually being able to put them to use are two entirely different things. From a business perspective social media is a limitless source of information making it possible to promote your products and services or keep tabs on the competition, it has revolutionized the way we market our business.
Community
As with any real world community there are protocols one must follow to become a welcomed part of the digital frontier. Etiquite sets apart the spammers and the socially enhanced and yet as I look at my own facebook feed it becomes clear to me that it is a fine line at times. Check out some of the other great social media platforms like Squidoo or Technorati. The blogosphere is a living breathing thing with trends and topics updated every second.
