Allstars are thrilled to announce the launch of our Allstar Strippers Wellington branch of the business. After spending some time in the city recently I fell in love with Wellington, its locals and its amazing performers.

The capital manages to bring an artistic twist to the industry with most of the local dancers well known to each other. It has a varied base of performers from club, theater or street art, and even though most people possibly won’t understand this… I believe stripping is a sort of performance art with deep theater undertones and that is what makes Wellington’s nightlife unique to any other city in the country.

My hope is to bring a little of that Auckland magic that drives our very successful industry to the the capital and take back to Auckland some of the art that has been lost within the rat race.

We will be covering the greater Wellington and Lower Hutt regions as we expand our talent base, with a focus to build up the male stripper and topless waiter industry across the region. If you or someone you know would suit a topless waiter position in the area please let us know! It’s a great way for new guys to break into male stripping and earn awesome money while having a great time.

Last weekend I jetted down for a mini-break in Wellington. While there I went along to Carousel Cabaret, a bi-monthly burlesque show produced by the lovely Venus Starr. The venue, a short walk away from my hotel, was the San Francisco Bath House, on Cuba Street.

I was totally impressed by the quality of the performers that Venus had brought in. Siren Sweetsong opened both the first and the second half of the show, with two amazing acts, and an INCREDIBLE voice.

Lilly Loca had been flown down from Auckland, performing her tribute to great burlesque legends, and I thought she was fabulous. There were also performances from Tiger Moon, Bon Bon Rocher, MisRed and Little Miss Broadway.

Venus put together a class act, and I think she should be very proud of herself. Hopefully some of the Allstars can make it down for the next one, it’s definitely a show worth seeing, with a perfomer line-up that changes every time.

Sitting here in the sunshine, sipping a glass of Riesling, enjoying my “weekend”. The life of a showgirl is all go most of the time, so I love having a couple of days mid-week to recharge my batteries.

Last weekend was packed with jobs; so many stags in one city! Here’s the low down…

O for Awesome Show

Ashleigh and I did a two girl show in Otara. Moments before we arrived a fire truck had been at the house about the bonfire in the backyard (Naughty boys! There’s a fire ban in place!) so everyone was really buzzing. Bet the firemen weren’t as hot as us though! We performed in a huge garage which had a pool table…I discovered that pool tables make handy impromptu stages, and rafters in the garage are fun to climb up on, and swing off, naked!

Favourite Moment

Walked into the private bar at Cosh on Ponsonby for a Bondage Show on Sunday night…Discovered it had a stripper’s pole! I was so happy to jump on that pole and bust some moves!

“Best” Dressed Stag

This week’s BDS goes to the awesome stag from the Cosh Bondage Show. His mates had put him in a fluro vest, fishnet tights with a pink g-string that covered NOTHING…and that’s it. I applaud him for even leaving the house!

Important Lesson Learned

You can wear a stripper outfit anywhere! Even Subway! I was starving in between jobs so popped into subway dressed as Bondage Schoolgirl…

We were also right in the middle of an upcoming (February 14th) documentary we had been doing with TVNZ 20/20 so they tagged along for the ride and got some great footage of all the staff unwinding after a busy lead up to Christmas.

I thought this week we’d have a “wee” look at one of our more unique entertainers Midgee – Male Stripper to the stars

I met Midgee on a job four years ago and was blown away by his comedic strip routine for a Stag night we’d organised. At this point you’re probably asking yourself “at a stag” ? Yes thats right ladies and gents Midgee does indeed bust out his little G banger for stags as well as hens.

Great things come in small packages and Midgee is honestly one of the greatest performers in our industry today! I cant say enough about the guy, he’s super professional, punctual and very polite as he applies the whip to stag buttocks. This is an awesome option if you really want a Stag that people wil NEVER forget!

We had our first Getapartybus booking last weekend kicking off the new wedding season. We worked very closely last season with Sharon and her crew from www.getapartybus.co.nz teaming up with them sometimes three or four times a weekend to entertain hundreds of lovely ladies and good kiwi blokes.
